Easter — also known as Resurrection Sunday — marks the greatest event in human history for followers of Christ. Our small community of believers will join other believers around the world to celebrate Jesus's victory over sin and death. We read from the Bible, sing songs telling the story of life found in Jesus, and hear our pastor's message from God's Word of the impact of his resurrection on our life and our future. These things are all part of historic Christian worship.

What Should I Expect?

You will be welcomed with a smile!
For a small church, we have a wide range of ages — senior adults down to babies. People dress in a variety of styles, so what you wear is not important; we are glad to have you with us to hear from God's Word! Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. and concludes by noon. If you come a little early, make your way to the hospitality cart supplied with coffee, water, and some sweets. Children are welcome to stay with you during worship. If you would like to utilize the nursery for your birth – 3 yr old, please let us know in advance. We meet in rented space at Wichita Friends School. Look for balloons marking the parking lot entrance!

What Do You Do about Music?

We all sing together while our acoustic trio leads. Lyrics are displayed on a screen. Sing loud. Sing soft. Just listen if that's more comfortable. We sing a mix of Christian songs ranging from historic expressions of the faith to contemporary songs. They all point to Christ and his victory over death. Five songs will be selected from this list:
Come People of the Risen King
Crown Him with many Crowns
Christ the Lord Is Risen Today
In Christ Alone
Christ Is Risen Indeed
Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery
It Was Finished upon that Cross

What Else Happens During Worship?

We sing, we are led in prayer by a pastor, and we read passages of Scripture. Then the pastor will present RAISED, a message aimed at the power of Jesus's resurrection and it's meaning for those who place their faith in Christ. At the close of the message we take the Lord's Supper, or communion. Communion is open to Christians who are walking in obedience to God's Word. One of the pastors can speak with you about communion before worship if you have questions. After the benediction, members tear down chairs to clear the space for school on Monday! The pastors are available to chat and respond to questions you may have.
